ENJOY THIS FLEETING LIGHT

LA FRESH GALLERY
It takes time to understand why we do things, it took me twenty-five years to understand why I paint. My next solo show “Enjoy This Fleeting Light, You Don't Know When The Next Storm Will Arrive” is a reflection on the passage of time, looking to capture a moment of my youth.
Life, death, senescence, from the beginning have been the themes behind my work. Enjoy This Fleeting Light is greatly indebted to Nineteenth Century European painting, from English landscape painters such as William Turner to the Impressionists, like Monet, Renoir and Cezanne, always looking to “capture light and the instant”.
